Día de muertos!

Or "day of the dead", is a Mexican tradition since

 the Pre-Hispanic time.

It takes place on November 1and 2. 

Traditionally we build altars honoring the deceased.

And this year is the first time I set up one in Hamburg.

The minute I saw this packaging I felt in love with it. Not just because it is from Salsas and as you already know I am a mexican girl living in Germany and I really miss mexican food. But because sometimes when I see "mexican" design on foreign packaging most of the times is just a cliche from mexican culture. ( you know just see some cactus, a desert and if you are lucky a pyramid)

But this time Simpson made this beautiful illustrations from one of my favorite mexican traditions "El día de muertos" in the Inferno-Sauce and in the pre-hispanic design from the BBQ-Sauce.

I will keep on posting illustrations from him because they are fun, beautiful and with a lot of nice details.
